In Hollywood bone straight hair is always what is accepted and desired. Sometimes in the fashion world kinky hair is embraced and used on models regardless or their ethnicity but that is not usually the norm in mainstream ads from what I've seen. The new 2010 Sonia Rykiel collection for H&M features models Karlie Kloss, Vlada Roslyakova and Caroline Trentini as the faces of the line’s spring campaign with high textured/teased hair:
I know seeing African Americans with natural hair styles in commercials is becoming pretty regular in the last few years--but what are your opinions on the above ads for the popular chain clothing store H&M and kinky curly hair starting to be embraced by others?
Will naturally straight haired girls be longing for kinks and curls in the near future?
